Former Yahoo employee held for IBM techie woman's murder in Bengaluru

A former Yahoo employee has been arrested in connection with the murder of an IBM techie woman in Bengaluru.

The 31-year-old was strangulated to death with a wire-like object. She was lying in a pool of blood, suggesting that she was attacked with a sharp object as well.

According to media reports, the woman, identified as Kusum Kumari Singla, hailing from Punjab, was transferred from the Gurgaon branch of the IT giant to Bengaluru recently. She was staying at a flat on Junior College Road, Kadugodi with a flatmate, Nidhi.

According to media reports, Kusum met the accused Sukhbir Singh on a social media platform and they developed a relationship. Singh, unemployed, used to ask her for money. He was arrested in Haryana.

Kusum had reportedly brought an unidentified man to her flat on Tuesday around 12.30 pm. The CCTV footage shows the duo and she signed him in as her guest.

They went into her flat and the two were suspected to have an argument over unknown reasons. The security guard saw the man walking out of her flat around 3.30 pm with a laptop bag.
