Days after severing ties with the BJP in Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said he had no prime ministerial ambitions on his mind. “I have no such thoughts. My work is to work for everyone,” he said on Friday.
Kumar added that he will make an effort to see that Opposition parties work together. “If they do, it will be good,” he told ANI. When asked about his role in Opposition unity at the national level, Kumar said, "We would want to unite everyone. I am receiving a lot of phone calls, I am doing everything.”
The JD(U) leader on Wednesday took oath as Bihar chief minister for a record eighth time, after joining hands with the RJD to form a Mahagathbandhan government. After taking oath, Kumar had said that the NDA government needs to "worry" about the next Lok Sabha polls. He had said, "They (NDA leaders) should remember that 2014 is past. They need to worry about 2024."
In a veiled attack at Kumar, Union Minister Giriraj Singh on Thursday tweeted a video showing a dog trying to fight two lions and captioned it "Challenge 2024", which he later deleted.
