A day ahead of Kamal Hasaan's much-awaited maiden political tour, the other Tamil superstar actor-turned-politician, Rajinikanth, faced some negative publicity on Tuesday when the Supreme Court ordered his wife to repay a loan amount of Rs 6.2 crore to a company within three months.

Latha Rajinikanth had signed as guarantor for a loan of approximately Rs 15 crore from AD Bureau for post-production expenses for the 2014 movie Kochadaiyaan, which featured her husband.

The company had filed a complaint claiming Rs 6.2 crore was yet to be repaid.

Following the complaint, Latha was booked by Bengaluru Police on charges of cheating and producing forged documents in court. Latha also received a notice from EXIM Bank in 2015 over non-payment of a loan of over Rs 20 crore for Kochadaiyaan.
