A total of 150 shops trading mostly in woollen garments were gutted after a massive fire broke out on Tuesday morning in New Delhi, fire officials said. No one was injured in the incident.

The fire broke out in the Nepali woollen market, in front of the Jama Masjid area, fire officials told IANS.

"A fire call was received at 1.10 am following which 14 fire tenders rushed to the spot," the officer said.

It took about three hours to douse the flames. The reason of fire was yet to be ascertained, officials said.

In a similar incident on Monday evening, at least 300 houses were gutted in a slum near Sadar Bazar area of north Delhi.

Last week, at least three people died and 14 were injured after a fire broke out in the parking of a residential complex in Mohan Park area of east Delhi.
