What makes Gal Gadot a real Wonder Woman

Film Box Office Year End Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman | AP

Feminists, equalists, womankind all over have a reason to rejoice. Gal Gadot is the highest grossing actress of 2017. The newcomer has bagged the title thanks to her films Wonder Woman and Justice League doing well at the box office. This is a big leap for the former Miss Israel as her fans were upset that she was earning only $300,000 whereas, Henry Cavill earned $14 million for playing superman in Man of Steel (though this was later debunked as it was revealed that while the $300,000 figure was true, both Cavill and Gadot got paid similar amounts for the first films).

This goes to show it matters not where you start at or whether or not you are a man or woman, as long as you rake in moolah at the box office. Her networth is $8 million and her film raked in $412 million at the US box office. Which means the beautiful Ms Gadot will be able to negotiate higher pay in the upcoming movies by DC comics and may even be able to ask for percentage of profits from earnings at the box office.

What's more, on account of multiple allegations of sexual misconduct and harassment against director and producer Brett Ratner, Gal Gadot iterated that she will not work on the Wonder Woman sequel unless Ratner's company, RatPac-Dune Entertainment, which helped fund the first film was excluded from the project. Not only was Ratner dropped from the project, Warner Bros. went ahead and cut ties with the financing company— this is surely a big win for brand Gadot.

In more power and wins for this beautiful actress, Gal Gadot was five months pregnant while shooting numerous actions sequences in Wonder Woman. The movie itself broke a gender barrier when Patty Jenkins became the first woman superhero movie director in a world of Snyders, Nolans and Reeves (all men). Gadot, who will soon be a presenter at the Golden Globes, and the crew of Wonder Woman had difficulty in shooting the action scenes due to the cold weather. Those of you who have seen the film will recall how the audience were cheering Diana of Themyscira when she stepped on the battlefield. With qualities like perseverance, determination and courage, Gal Gadot makes for a super hero in real life too.
