After having conducted two back to back successful tours in America, stand-up comic and actor Vir Das continues to break barriers. Das has now become the first Indian comedian to have a Netflix Original Comedy Special. Netflix has, in the past, produced a select number of wildly popular 'Netflix Original' comedy specials featuring top comedians in the world including Kevin Hart, Louis C.K., Aziz Ansari, Chris Tucker, Bo Burnham, Bill Burr and Russel Peters to name a few.
The special, featuring Das, will soon be filmed in India—in his hometown of Delhi. Das's comedy special will be streamed on Netflix across the globe in over 100 countries.
Das thinks it is a huge opportunity! "Netflix produces Comedy Specials with the biggest comedians out there. I look forward to being an authentic Indian voice in the world circuit. Plus, it's a multi-city, multi-country Comedy Special that's meant for all audiences. We've been planning this for a while and I'm honoured they have that kind of faith in me.
