Alert Harry Potter fans! Only 48 days left for the release of Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them.
The brand new trailer which was released recently on The Ellen Degeneres Show gives fans a peak into the world of magic in America. Newt Scamander, played by Eddie Redmayne, is a magizoologist (a person who studies magical creatures) who arrives in New York sometime in the 1920s with a suitcase full of magical creatures. The animals escape and wreak havoc in the city and Scamander has to capture them before time runs out. All through the trailer there are hints of a war coming on, possibly between the magical population and the No-Maj (non-magical population) in the city.
Fans are treated to several magical creatures in the trailer, inlcuding one that looks like a dragon with its baby, a stick insect with green leaves and a porcupine-like animal with webbed feet and a long beak like a platypus. The music takes you back to the Harry Potter series with hints of the Hedwig theme in between.
Collin Farrel makes his appearence as a high-ranking auror, who is in charge of the protection of wizards and set with the task of tracking down Newt. Several other characters like Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, a No-Maj who is pulled into the magical commuity after meeting Newt, and Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein who works for the Magical Congress of the United States of America (MACUSA), leave their mark.
For those who feared that J.K. Rowling might have stopped spining her magical tales, Fantastic Beasts promises to be another delightful magic filled installment by the writer. The film arrives in theatres on November 18.
