This is how Rajinikanth's Kabali helping to curb open defecation

Not just private business organisations, even the government agencies are seeking to cash in on the fan frenzy surrounding Superstar Rajinikanth's upcoming film Kabali.

According to news reports, Puducherry administration has announced to provide free tickets to Kabali film to residents of Sellipet panchayat, if they build toilets at their homes.

According to reports, Sellipet village has 772 households and more than 58 percent of its inhabits are still practicing open defecation.

The government initiative seems to have struck a chord with the people. Puducherry Lieutenant Governor and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi tweeted saying the government’s idea was “working.”

“Collector in #pondicherry is using gift of tickets of this (Kabali) film as incentive for use of Public Services!Its Working!,” she tweeted.

The Puducherry government under the Swachh Bharath Abhiyan scheme has planned to build toilets for over 55,000 households in the union territory. And, it has allocated Rs 120 crore for this cause.

Kabali directed by Pa.Ranjit is expected to release on July 22. Besides Rajinikanth, the film also stars Radhika Apte in the lead role.
