Bollywood's badshah Shahrukh Khan filed a petition in the Gujarat High Court urging to quash a case of criminal negligence filed against him in Baroda Court.

On January 23, when Shahrukh Khan was going from Mumbai to New Delhi in train, during stoppage at the Vadodara railway station, a large number of people had gathered to see him. In the chaos that resulted, one person died of heart attack. He was on promotional tour of his film Raees, said to be loosely based on the life of underworld don Latif of Ahmedabad.

On July 11, juidicial first class magistrate S. P. Dave issued summons to Shahrukh Khan asking him to remain present in the court on July 27. The summons have been issued under section 204 of the CrPc.

The summons were issued based on a complaint filed by one Jitendra Solanki, who also happens to be a Congress worker. Solanki filed a complaint through his advocate Juned Saiyed.

Sources said that when a person went to the actor's residence “Mannat” in Mumbai, his personal assitant refused to accept the summons. However, he accepted it later, after talking to the lawyer.

In his petiton in the Gujarat High Court, the actor has urged that he was innocent and that the complaint was wrongly filed against him. He has also urged the court to quash the case against him.

The case will come up for hearing in coming days.

Interestingly, if Shahrukh Khan comes to Vadodara on July 27, he would face Tarun Barot, who had killed real life don Latif in an encounter. Barot is posted as DySP in Baroda Railway.

The person who died was known to one of the persons in the actor's team and he had later on spoken to the family and conveyed condolences.
