The best thing to happen in 2017 (so far) is undoubtedly the new version of Urvasi Urvasi, by none other than the musical genius A.R.Rahman. Recreating one of the all-time popular tracks for MTV Unplugged, a platform for musicians to showcase their skill with acoustic instruments, the best part about the rendition is the new add-ons to the lyrics. Already touted as the anthem for 2017, the song has become an instant hit, recording over 65,000 views on YouTube and sending twitter into a frenzy.

Through a Facebook post in December, the maestro had requested his fans for lyric suggestions. The song was finally shared on YouTube and retweeted by Rahman on Thursday. Despite being in Tamil, the lyrics are not very hard to fathom. The song is making waves online for its catchy rendition. Like the original version, this one also asks everyone to adopt the 'take it easy' policy — more so in relevance to the current affairs.

Despite having specially requested all of his followers to avoid any reference to Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump or the currency situation, all these references have somehow made their way into the song — making it all the more hilarious and catchy. Citing reasons like Trump becoming the President, Clinton losing the elections or the 500 rupee note going useless for adopting the 'take it easy' policy, the song also addresses the issues faced by the common man in a hilarious manner. The song is attuned to most of the millenial woes — being caught by the traffic police despite wearing a helmet, calling torn clothes as fashion and losing our phone's battery during the most crucial times. What better than being in sync and in tune!!!
