Of many interesting anecdotes from rock 'n' roll legend, Elvis Presley's life, one that remains all time popular is the time when Presley famously entered a lookalike competition, as himself, and came third.

Going by recent photos of Ranbir Kapoor's new look from Sanjay Dutt biopic, you might wonder if something similar could happen to Sanju Baba. Yes, Ranbir has nailed it, yet again!

In the pictures doing rounds on social media, Ranbir looks like a splitting image of the Khalnayak actor from the recent times, complete with salt and pepper moustache, beard and hair, receding hairline and a long tilak. The look reminds us of Sanjay from the photos of his release from Pune’s Yerwada jail, after serving a 42-month sentence, in February 2016. He was convicted in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.

Time and again Ranbir has proved his versatility by excelling at roles that may have looked like a misfit when announced. After a series of chocolate-boy characters, starting with his debut in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya in 2007, Ranbir took the nation by surprise with his portrayal of an emotionally-conflicted rock musician, Janardhan ‘Jordan’ Jakhar, in Imtiaz Ali’s Rockstar in 2011. The next release in line, Anurag Basu's Barfi!, had Ranbir playing a hearing- and speech-impaired man to an adorable perfection.

Despite his proven track record, earlier we were skeptical of him playing Sanjay through his tumultuous life so far. After all, is not Sanjay synonymous to machoism in Bollywood, unlike Ranbir who is an epitome of sophistication and charm. However, the recent photos of Ranbir have not only set our doubts aside, but have also set social media abuzz with praise for the actor.

Though it has been a long season of biopics for Bollywood, very few actors actually managed to get under the skin of their character in terms of look. The last time we saw such transformation was when Aamir Khan left no stone unturned to look like Mahavir Singh Phogat, the man who inspired his character in Dangal.

According to media reports, the yet-to-be-named film, directed by Rajkumar Hirani, traces his formative years as an actor and life incidents that shaped the course of his life. The film is expected to revolve his career as an actor, his relationship with his father and late actor Sunil Dutt, his struggles coping up with the loss of his mother Nargis Dutt, and more.

The biopic also stars Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt, Manisha Koirala as Nargis Dutt, Vicky Kaushal as Sanjay’s close friend, and Dia Mirza as his wife Maanayata Dutt.

In February, the leaked photographs of Rabir's transformation for the film took internet by storm. Flaunting a perfect makeover in the photos, Ranbir resembled Sanjay from his earlier days in the film industry.
