Baahubali 2 trailer: Rajamouli’s grandeur earns 85 million views

Two years after his epic movie took the Indian audience by storm, leaving everyone wanting to know the answer for 'why Kattappa killed Baahubali’, filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli has once again set the tone. His Baahubali 2:The conclusion trailer, which released on March 16, has received an outstanding response from fans across the globe. The trailer has been watched for more than 85 million times in these few days after Rajamouli unleashed the fight between his two heros—Prabhas and Rana Dagubatti and also Sathyaraj in it. The film will hit the screens on April 28.

The two minutes and 20 second theatrical cut has all the elements in it—love, war, deceit and death—enthralling the audience to the maximum. “As long as you are by my side, there is no one ever born on the earth to kill me uncle,” a weary and injured Amarendra Bahubali tells Kattappa, leaving the audience more curious on why Kattappa killed Baahubali. Surpassing the records of Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees and Aamir Khan’s Dangal, the youtube link of the trailer received 2.08 million hits within 24 hours of its release and it has now touched 85 million.

While Baahubali: The beginning was more of a character introduction to the audience rendering them awestruck with the scale and the grandeur and the graphic elements, The Conclusion seems to be packed with more of emotions and much more grandeur in terms of graphics, made only to enchant its adoring fans. The trailer packed with blood, gore, love, respect, deceit and death reveals the depth in each character giving the audience the sheer pleasure in watching the magnum opus. The huge waterfalls, the greenery, the sprawling Mahismathi kingdom, the romance between Baahubali and Avanthika, the final war between Mahendra Baahubali  aka Shivdu (played by Prabhas) and his uncle Bhallala Deva (played by Rana Daggubatti), the flashback to Amarendra Baahubali, how and why he was crowned, his amour with Devasena (played by Anushka Shetty), why she was held captive by Bhallala Deva, queen Sivagami (played by Ramya Krishnan) and why she saved the younger Baahubali and why Kattappa killed Baahubali—all put together in a faster, stronger and an awe inspiring trailer. The huge elephant statues, the war within the kingdom, a weary and injured Baahubali and a cunning and unabashedly powerful Bhallaladeva remind the audience of the rustic characters of Mahabarata and the story of deceit and death rooted in Indian ethos.

M.M. Keeravani’s sound track raises the emotions by several notches, while the fire at the opening of the trailer talks tales about the face-off between Rajamouli’s two heros and the intriguing plot in the magnum opus. And as the trailer opens, the voice of Prabhas, saying “I am Amarendra Baahubali,” makes the audience take a deep breath, kindling their emotions within. In the trailer too, Rajamouli plays the trick making the audience wait. After a second again, the voice of Prabhas continues by swearing in the name of Sivagami. More emotions flow in here, as Sivagami is seen emotionally disturbed; people of the Mahishmathi kingdom too look disturbed as the pulsating background makes the audience pine in anticipation. Though the plot is not revealed, the trailer brings out the elements of the mega opus.
