Mohini is a love child, the result of an intense romance between Maharaja Madhav Singh and Bollywood actress Kamini. Mohini is a theatre artiste who is the sole breadwinner for her family. Her own life is entwined around her deep love for a handsome young man, Ayaan.
When life seems all hunky-dory for Kamini, her love child shows up after a gap of twenty years. Thereby starts a twin love story which unravels the triumphs and failure of love while touching upon the social stigma relating to it in our society.
This is the basic story line of a year-long television serial titled Love Ka Hai Intezaar which kick-starts on national television channel Star Plus from Monday, August 7, 2 pm onwards.
Doing the pivotal role of Mohini is Preetika Rao who was earlier seen in the highly successful TV serial Beintehaa which ran on Colors. It was also dubbed in Tamil (Alai Payuthae) and telecast on Raj TV. More interestingly, the serial was dubbed in respective languages and telecast in Indonesia, Turkey, South Africa, Kazhakastan and Pakistan.
Preetika Rao had a short stint in movies through a Tamil film, Chikku Bukku, which released a few years ago. “After that film, although some good offers were coming my way, I took a conscious decision to focus my attention on television. Beintehaa happened soon after and that took up a very long time to complete. Meanwhile, some interesting film offers were coming in from Bollywood, too. Simultaneously, Star Plus came up with the role for Love Ka Hai Intezaar which excited me. Now, when you sign a TV serial, you cannot take up any other serial or will find time to do a movie in between, as shooting for the serial goes on almost every day. But, I have no regrets as the current production is really an interesting story,” says Preetika Rao.
In Love Ka Hai Intezaar, Mohit Sehgal plays Ayaan, Sanjeeda Sheikh plays Kamini, Keith Sequeira plays Maharaja Madhav Singh and Soni Razdan plays the role of the Rajmata. In this beautifully intertwined love story of two generations, Preetika plays a vibrant, modern girl for whom family is everything and she believes in fighting for her own happiness than mulling over it.
Love Ka Hai Intezaar is directed by Siddarth Malhotra (We are Family) for Alchemy Films. The promo of the serial portrays Mohini telling her story about waiting for twenty years to avenge her abandonment. Having grown up with a deep interest in performing arts, the ambitious Mohini aspires to be a film actress, a successful one at that.
