Mumbai police, on Tuesdy, took on author and columnist Shobhaa De after the latter posted a pic of an obese cop on duty on the eve of BMC elections in Mumbai.
Along with the picture, she had written, "Heavy police bandobast in Mumbai today!"
The Mumbai police replied on their official twitter handle, "We love puns too Ms De but this one is totally imisplaced. Uniform/official not ours. We expect better from responsible citizens like you."

Meanwhile, some Twitter users took exception to De's tweet, claiming that it amounted to body shaming.
.@DeShobhaa if body shaming is worthy of condemnation for women, men deserve the same. Gender equality needs advocates, not your puns😬👺
