The 75-second teaser, for which Ilayathalapathy (as he is popularly known) Vijay fans were waiting for, has everything in it. From dance to fight to the different looks of the three characters played by Vijay, thus making it very colourful and giving all the energy for his fans.
The teaser opens with Vijay walking into a workshop holding a welding machine in his hand. The colours played in the background and the music, are a treat for die-hard vijay fans. As Vijay walks into the workshop, the teaser cuts to show him, beating up the goons around him and fly in the air. The teaser has been released on director Atlee’s birthday, whose second directorial venture, Mersal is expected to be a superhit.
With the punch dialogue and blaring music, Mersal seems to have everything that Vijay fans want. The punch dialogue in Vijay’s voice, “the fire you lit will ask you burn yourself, the evil you sowed will let you down,” teases the audience that the plot will be set in a modern day scenario along with a look into the past. However, the 75 second teaser doesn’t reveal much of the plot. All the three female stars - Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and Nithya Menon do not figure in the teaser.
Seen in three different looks, two of which are, as a magician and a panchayat leader, Vijay’s third look is not revealed in the teaser. All set to release this Diwali, Vijay’s Mersal is one of the most anticipated Kollywood movies this year. Produced by Thenandal films at a whopping budget of Rs.100 crore, it is the most expensive film in Vijay’s two decade old film career. A month aga, a single from Mersal, “Alaporan Thamizhan” was released and it has received several million hits since then, thus creating high expectations on the film.
