Bollywood actors Mandira Bedi, Gul Panag and Kushal Punjabi are sharing screen space for a short film. The Gift, a 19-minutes-long thriller, has been produced by Gaurav Aggarwal and television actor Nandish Sandhu and has been directed by Punjabi and Suhas Shetty.

The intriguing story involves three characters who undergo a turmoil of emotions. There is love, betrayal and vengeance. Highlighting the concept and storyline, Aggarwal said, "The film is a thriller. It involves three central characters—Mandira Bedi, Gul Panag and Kushal Punjabi. All these characters are connected to each other directly."

This is the first time Mandira Bedi will be playing an edgy and provocative role, as the other woman in Punjabi's life. Bedi had already worked in short films like Phir Ek Baar, Deuce and Bali. She feels that since today's audiences are experimenting and showing an inclination towards short films, the genre is growing in popularity.

"Short films are a short time commitment. Actors can pull out dates for such films without a problem. One gets to be a part of creative content and edgy scripts, because short films allow for that. As far as the viewer is concerned, it's entertainment on demand. Watch it when you like, where you like and how many ever times you like. That's why films like this are so popular," she said.

Incidentally, both the producers also have a cricket team, under the name of Ahmedabad Express. "This is our second film but we have been working on a lot of other projects as a team. He is one of the best partners I could get, and moreover, he’s family and a friend to me," says Sandhu.
