At a press conference held in Mumbai's suburbs on Monday, Aamir Khan introduced 16-year-old Meghna Mishra, who sang for the film Secret Superstar, which is being directed by Advait Chandan. Mishra is the voice for Zaira Wasim, the young girl who won a million hearts with her performance in Dangal.
Just like she hardly knew anything about wrestling when she was roped in to play young Geeta Phogat in Dangal, Wasim does not know much about singing which is crucial to the plot of the film Secret Superstar. She, however, did learn to play the guitar, Khan said.
Secret Superstar, with music by Amit Trivedi and lyrics by Kausar Munir besides Mishra's powerful voice, sure appears to be a promising affair. What makes the wait for the release of Secret Superstar even more exciting is the manner in which Chandan, who is making his directorial debut, has displayed a very keen grasp of his knowledge of synchronizing of music and visuals which is evident from the song main kaun hoon that was released on Monday.
At the press conference, Khan also spoke about the need to donate to the chief minister's fund for the floods that have devastated not just Bihar but many other states as well. "One doesn't have control over natural calamities and at a time like this I will be contributing and would ask everybody to come forward and contribute to the chief minister's fund so that they can do everything that is necessary to bring relief to the victims," he said.
