Filmmaker Karan Johar is all appreciation for Bollywood biggies who have been pouring in their best wishes for his two kids—Yash and Roohi—in their own unique ways.
Ace lyricist and the screenwriter Javed Akhtar and wife Shabana Azmi blessed the kids with lovely, heartfelt poems telling them about their names and what they mean to their father.
In the poem for Roohi, Akhtar tells her how her name is an anagram of her grandmother’s name Hiroo. Referring to Roohi's grandmother, the poem reads, “Nannhi munni Roohi, tumko chupke se ik baat bataaoon, apne naam ki zara talaashi jo tum logi, ismein chhupi ik ladki milegi....”
For Yash, the poem introduces him to his late grandfather and Johar's father, Yash Johar. The poem reads: “"Nannhe munne Yash Johar, kya tumhein pataa hai, tumko ye jo naam mila hai, iska poora matlab kya hai..."

An overwhelmed Johar shared the photos of framed poems on Twitter, followed by a post thanking Akhtar and Azmi. In the post, he wrote: “Mom and I are extremely touched with your warm and wonderful present...thank you @AzmiShabana @Javedakhtarjadu ...big love and respect...”
Last week, the filmmaker shared photos of the nursery of his newly borns, designed by Shah Rukh Khan’s wife Gauri Khan, on Instagram.
The babies were born in February this year through surrogacy. On March 5, Johar broke the news in a long post on Twitter. In the post, he thanked the surrogate and Dr Jatin Shah, who helped him through this journey.
