After a crazy successful box office run in India, Baahubali's popularity has now reached overseas. In Orlando, Florida, as a prelude to an NBA match, schoolchildren danced to a track from the hit movie, replete with colorful attire that would not have looked out of place in the actual Mahishmathi.
"Orlando gets treated to some CRAZY DESI VIBES!" wrote NBA on Twitter.
Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali: The Beginning had created history in 2015 by grossing more than Rs 600 crore worldwide.
According to Hollywood Reporter, the second installment of the Baahubali franchise had become the highest grossing Indian film of all time by earning 131 million USD worldwide.
The film easily beat 2014's PK, which collected approx. 123 million USD.
S.S. Rajamouli’s directorial collected 13.1 million USD in US and beat previous record-holder Dangal's 12.4 million USD total haul in the territory.
In India, the film has collected over 106 million USD, becoming the highest-grossing film in the country, beating previous record-holder Dangal which collected 83 million USD.
