Spider-Man is one of the most loved super-heroes in India. And the next movie in the series, slated to be released on July 7, Spider-Man: Homecoming explores the high school life of Spider-Man. But, what if it was to be made in Bollywood. Here, THE WEEK lists the actors and the director who would be apt for its desi version.
1) Spider-Man/ Peter Parker aka Tiger Shroff!
Be it his agile action sequences or his dance moves, there is no beating youth icon Tiger Shroff! Now that the Bollywood heartthrob has come on board to dub as Spider-Man in the Hindi version of the much awaited ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’, the actor is perfectly fit to carry on the mantle if the desi version was to be made!
2) Vulture/ Adrain Toomes aka Irrfan Khan
Michael Keaton is playing the role of Vulture in the Marvel movie. "The Vulture" is a moniker used by four different Spider-Man villains, all of whom can fly. Irrfan Khan resembles the character and his impeccable acting skills will give the needed depth to the role. Hence, our vote for this one goes to Irrfan Khan.
3) Michelle aka Alia Bhatt
The character of Michelle, who is one of Peter’s best friends, is played by Zendaya. As the character is that of a school girl, Alia Bhatt is the first one that comes to the mind. Remember how Alia won hearts when she played the role of a school girl in her debut film Student of The Year. We are certain that no one would be able to pull off the role of Zendaya better than Alia Bhatt.
4) Tony Stark/ Iron man aka Shah Rukh Khan
Tony Stark will appear as a mentor/father figure to Spider-Man in the film. Robert Downey Jr. has been playing Tony Stark, a.k.a. Iron Man, since the Marvel Cinematic Universe began in 2008, and while the franchise has introduced many more heroes since then, he still remains one of its primary figures. He is known for his witty comments and care free nature and who else can we think of for his Bollywood version except the one and only Shah Rukh Khan. Just like Robert, SRK is also known for his witty and gullible nature. No second thoughts on this one.
5) Director of the movie aka Rohit Shetty
Jon Watts was selected to direct this venture of the Marvel Studios because Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studio, was impressed with Watts growth as a filmmaker. Jon directed the movie Cop Car, which impressed Feige. Known for his action packed movies in Bollywood, the one name that strikes our mind is Rohit Shetty. Rohit may be able to give equal justice to the Bollywood version of Spider-Man.
