Internationally acclaimed freestyle wrestler Geeta Phogat, who won India's first ever gold medal in wrestling at the Commonwealth Games in 2010, is all set to make her television debut with action reality show Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi.

The show, with the theme 'Pain in Spain', will be aired this monsoon on general entertainment channel Colors. In sync with the theme, the beautiful terrains of Spain—the land of flamenco, fiesta and folklore—will turn into a battleground for contestants as the show will be shot there. Bollywood director Rohit Shetty will host the upcoming show.

“This time, with an exotic destination like Spain and carefully handpicked contestants like Geeta, we are sure the show will become a blockbuster,” said Raj Nayak, COO, Viacom 18, that owns the TV channel. He is also happy about Shetty’s return on the show as a host. “We are happy to have Rohit Shetty back on the show. Both the seasons that he hosted earlier yielded rich dividends for the show.”

The series will see a dozen contestants tasting ‘fear’ and living with ‘pain’ at every step of their journey. Apart from Geeta, other players on the show include Bigg Boss’s last season winner Manveer Gurjar, VJ and actor Shibani Dandekar, Lopamudra Raut, Monica Dogra and Nia Sharma, actors Ravi Dubey, Karan Wahi and Rithvik Dhanjani, Hina Khan and Shiny Doshi, and hip-hop king Shantanu Maheshwari. Together, they will battle not only Spain’s unpredictable weather but also perform specially curated stunts that will challenge their endurance limits. Contestants will perform a mix of stunts based on height, water, insects and snakes, to name some.

“The line-up this year is very promising. The viewers will have a blast watching wrestler Geeta Phogat fight in a new battleground opposite daily soap bahu Hina and common man Gurjar” said Manisha Sharma, programming head, Colors.
