Baahubali 2 trailer breaks internet

For a film that earned Rs 500 crore through its satellite and distribution rights even before its release, it was expected that its trailer release, too, would be a milestone. But more than nine million views in around eight hours? Phenomenal! If the numbers are anything to go by, S.S. Rajamouli's Baahubali 2: The conclusion is already on its way to beat the first instalment, which released two years ago. Rajamouli's magnum opus Baahubali: The Beginning had created history in 2015 by grossing more than Rs 600 crore worldwide to become one of the biggest Indian films ever made.

It was two minutes and 20 seconds of absolute madness in 250-300 theatres across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where the trailer was released. On March 14, the official Twitter handle of the film, @BaahubaliMovie, had put out the lists of theatres where the fans can catch the trailer release live. Videos and pics posted on social media show fans dancing both inside and outside the theatres and cheering the trailer.

Come April 28, and the answer to one of the most awaited questions will be finally answered—why did Kattappa kill Baahubali? The trailer has a montage of scenes from the first part of the two-film period drama and gives glimpses of what to expect in the sequel. The final showdown between Shivudu, Amarendra Bahubali's son, and his uncle Bhallaladeva will undoubtedly be the highlights of the film. Social media went berserk over the trailer, with #Bahubali, #Bahubali2trailer, #BahubaliTheConclusion trending across platforms. Celebrities and fans alike took to social media sites to express their excitement.
