On Tuesday, when Priyanka Chopra posted a picture of her meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, she was elated and called it a lovely coincidence. Modi was in Berlin, as part of his Germany trip. Priyanka also happened to be in Berlin, where she was promoting her Hollywood debut Baywatch.
Priyanka met Modi, and posted pictures from the meeting ,on her social media accounts. Little did she know that this would trigger a barrage of trolls, and name-calling. Well, it looks like many 'sanskari' Indians are trolling PeeCee because she was wearing a short dress, and 'showing her legs' while meeting the prime minister. According to most comments, this is not in line with Indian 'tradition', and shows her as being disrespectful of the PM.
Priyanka, however, is not one who would give up without a good fight. On Wednesday, she posted a photograph on Instagram—an epic response to all the trolls shaming her. The photograph of the actor with her mother, Madhu Chopra, shows Priyanka wearing a denim dress with a slit, and her mother in a short skirt and top. The lovely mother-daughter duo just show 'some more legs' in the pictures. Priyanka has a kickass caption, too, which will surely burn some trolls. She captions the images as: 'Legs for days...#itsthegenes'.
Priyanka, in an interview last year, had said that as a child, she was a tomboy, always falling down and bruising her knees. But after she learnt to take care of her body, the actor had said her legs sell 12 or 15 products in India.
This is not the first time Priyanka has hit back at body-shaming trolls. In June, 2016, there was a raging debate on Priyanka's armpits, after the actor appeared on the cover of Maxim India. Apparently, the her armpits in the photographs appeared photoshopped. And Twitter went berserk about how such photographs would set unrealistic fashion, and body-image goals for many youngsters.
Priyanka sought to end the debate by posting a picture on Instagram, showing off her armpits. #WillTheRealArmpitPleaseStandUp #nofilter—it said.
