Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji and filmmaker Aditya Chopra have been blessed with a baby girl on Wednesday morning.
The delivery took place at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and according to media reports, the baby is "healthy and feisty".
The couple named the baby girl Adira, an amalgam of their names.
Calling the baby "god's greatest gift", in a statement issued, the actress thanked her fans and well wishers.
In her statement, she said; "Today life has given us god's greatest gift with Adira. We thank fans our friends and well-wishers for their unconditional support and blessings. With joy we begin this new chapter in our lives."
Friends are relatives of the couple including Aditya Chopra's brother Uday Copra, film director Karan Johar, actors Parineeti Chopra and Rishi Kapoor congratulated the couple on Twitter.
