Bollywood actor-couple Ajay Devgn and Kajol will be the brand ambassadors of Andhra Pradesh tourism. The decision has been made after the couple met Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu recently and expressed their willingness to be part of the state's attempt to revive its tourism sector.
The chief minister welcomed the offer and walked them through the projects he has lined up to promote tourism. With entertainment, media and creative projects being the couple's areas of interest, Devgn and Kajol have offered to setup a virtual technology-based creative studio in the state.
Devgn also proposed to build an entertainment and media city in the state’s upcoming capital Amaravati. He also suggested that the state government consider using Lidar technology, a laser-based surveying technology, for monitoring different projects.
It is not immediately clear if the actors would be compensated for their roles as brand ambassadors.
Devgn and Kajol came to Amaravati to unveil the logo of Y Screens Entertainment India Limited, a company that is planning to establish mini digital theaters in all 670 mandals of the state.
Devgn later said that he was a great admirer of Chandrababu Naidu. "I have seen the changes he has brought in Hyderabad during his tenure as the chief minister of the undivided state. Under him, Amaravati and other areas too will witness change," he said.
