Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut, who often taunts director-producer Karan Johar over the issues of nepotism and favoritism, has come out in praise of a movie produced by Johar.

The Queen actor appears to have impressed by the recent film Shershaah, biopic of Param Vir Chakra-awardee Captain Vikram Batra, starring Sidharth Malhotra in the lead. Johar is one among the producers of the movie.

In an Instagram story, the actor wrote: “National hero Vikram Batra was a Himachali boy from Palampur, very popular and loved soldier. When the tragedy happened, news spread like wildfire in Himachal, it slit through our hearts. As a kid, I remember being tormented for days.”

She also praised the performance of Malhotra saying, "What a glorious tribute @sidmalhotra. Congratulations to entire team. It was a big responsibility and you all excelled.”

Released on August 12 on Amazon Prime Video, Shershaah was praised for performance of its lead star and its battle sequences.

Directed by Vishnu Varadhan, Shershaah is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and Kaash Entertainment.

Meanwhile, the release of Ranaut-starrer biographical drama Thalaivii, based on the life of actor and former chief minister of Tamil Nadu J. Jayalalithaa, is set to release theatrically on September 10.
