Company keen on becoming a Top 3 player in passenger vehicle segment

After the launch of its new SUV Hexa, TATA Motors on Tuesday launched two new cars—a style sedan and a sporty and compact SUV—at the Geneva International Motor Show. Both cars are high on expressing individuality in design and seeks to stand out among other cars in its respective segments.

Tata Motors presented special editions of its next generation product line-up—India’s first ‘Styleback’, the Tata TIGOR and the bold, elegant and sporty compact SUV, Tata NEXON.

The Tata TIGOR will be launched in India later this month. Tata NEXON, a lifestyle, zippy and young interpretation of a Sports Utility will mark its powerful entry in the rapidly growing SUV segment later in 2017.

These new product launches will form the front-line in the passenger vehicle business, to meet immediate customer demand in a highly competitive environment, the company said in a statement.

"Denoting the company’s IMPACT design philosophy, the TIGOR and NEXON boast of best-in-class driving pleasure in their respective segments. We have taken the excitement to the next level this year by showcasing special Geneva Editions of the TIGOR and the NEXON," said Mayank Pareek, president, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors.

The TIGOR showcased at the Tata Motors Pavilion is the designer’s rendition of the first Styleback, featuring a lively and dynamic stance. The TIGOR ‘Styleback’ seeks to make its mark in a segment that is largely dominated by boxy cars.

Tata Motors have initiated the new launches driven by the vision to be among the top 3 in the Indian passenger vehicle market by FY 19. For these launches, Tata Motors said that it had evaluated preference in difference customer segments and global advancements in terms of design, technology and innovation.
