Jio unveils low-cost 4G mobile phones LYF

Reliance Jio, the telecom arm of Reliance Industries, on Friday unveiled its low-cost mobile handset offering under the 'LYF' brand through first hoardings at Amaravati.

Jio is the title sponsor of the 'Amaravati Marathon' and hoardings of LYF were put up on Friday.

LYF sets are dual SIM and support Jio SIM as well as third-party network.

"First #LYF hoardings are up," said a tweet from a company official along with pictures.

Besides, 12 special Telegu emojis made available on Twitter handle @JioAmaravati and Twitter hashtag #JioAmaravati.

Currently, LYF handsets are available only to employees after the launch with Shah Rukh Khan and A.R. Rahman performing for over one lakh RIL employees gathered for the world's biggest corporate town hall in over 1,050 locations across India.

The 4G smartphones will enable customers to make Internet-based calls like Voice over LTE (VoLTE), Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWi-FI), High Definition Voice and High Definition quality video calling on Reliance Jio Infocomm (RJIL) network.

RIL employees are also being offered a special Wifi device which is delivering up to 50-70 Mbps and can connect to 10 devices at the same time.
