Bajaj Electricals bets strongly on LED lighting projects

Bajaj Electricals is strongly focusing on LED lighting projects which is one of the strongest growing segments amongst the lighting market in the country. The company recently won projects for a municipal project to install 80,000 LED based street lights in south Delhi, it also completed the installation project at the Chatrapati Shivaji Terminal station (VT Station) and Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Meanwhile, it will also be installing lights in 20 stations of the Kochi metro project. At the same time the company has lighting projects across many software and pharmaceutical, retail companies across the country.

“LED is increasingly driving the lighting business in the country. LED lights work very well when the requirement is for 13-14 hours of continuous usage. LED lights not only save power but also have a long life unlike other conventional bulbs. In the IT city of Bengaluru alone we have installed LED luminaires across more than 20,000 light points which has helped the IT sector save huge amounts of energy. We have also recently launched next range of LED lighting solutions for applications in the IT / ITES sector, modern work spaces, industrial sector, street Lighting, area lighting and Smartcity Lighting,” said R. Sundararajan, President – Lighting Business Group, Bajaj Electricals Ltd.

Currently the company is driving an UPGRADE programme to help its customers to upgrade to its latest next LED products. The company also has a strong thrust towards solar power systems and is also focusing on solar street lights, and also offers many other solar products such as roof top solar bank, solar lanterns and solar appliances.

“Over the past 7 years, we have made rapid advances in the sphere of Integrated Building Management System which includes services in the realm of life safety, security system, lighting controls etc. We are also focusing on Data Centre Fire and Safety Management,” said Sundararajan.
