With an aim to woo the younger generation and make them zoom off in style, the next generation of macho drive is set to hit the roads this February. Yamaha India has launched a new model of bike, FZ25, in New Delhi and this has marked its entry in the 200-250 cc segment.

Bollywood actor John Abraham revealed its first look. Placed as a ''powerful, mid-class, street fighter'', the bike accompanies ample features. These include good mileage, excellent engine performance, fuel efficiency, new front and rear suspension settings, 282 mm diameter front disc, 14-lt fuel tank and large foot space for both rider and pillion. Efforts have been made to enable the rider to control the two-wheeler by adding a single cylinder and keeping the frame lighter (148 kgs in weight).

The bike will deliver maximum power output of 20.9 PS at 8000 rpm and maximum torque of 20 Nm at 6000 rpm. The new 249 cc model offers a blend of attributes such as LED headlight, LCD instrument cluster, a mudguard that moves with the swing arm, wheels with a spoke design and racing footpads. Targetted at those between 20-30 years, the bike is available in three colours—ballistic blue, warrior white and knight black.

Stressing upon the USP of the bike, Roy Kurian, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Yamaha Motor India Sales Pvt Ltd, said, “FZ25 is three dimensional. It has an overwhelming road presence because it is loaded with features and it has got a masculine presence. Secondly, the bike is very good in handling and it has got a blue core technology which gives this bike a mileage also thanks to its light-weight (148) kgs diamond type frame. Finally, since it is based on rev up character, its speed is excellent; the initial one, the passing acceleration is amazing.”

John Abraham, who is known for his love of bikes, shared his long relationship with Yamaha. In the press conference, he said, “My relationship with Yamaha dates back to early 90s. In fact, Yamaha was the first bike I got, from a Parsi gentleman in 1993-94. That was when my love story with Yamaha started. Unlike other actors, I am not associated with this brand for money. For me, motorcycling is my life and a passion and Yamaha is my dream. I would recommend people buy this bike because Yamaha has got its own statement which makes it a special ride.”
