New launch

Mahindra to strongly target heavy truck segment market

Blazo Nalin Mehta, CEO, Mahindra Truck and Bus Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. poses during the launch of new HCV Truck series, 'BLAZO'

The Mahindra Truck and Bus Division of the Mahindra Group is aiming to strongly target the heavy truck segment market. A fairly new entrant in the Heavy Commercial Vehicle (HCV) truck segment, Mahindra is bullish about the growth of this market which is likely to be positively influenced by a good monsoon and the revival of the construction industry in the country.

Aiming to cash on this market, the company has launched its new heavy commercial truck series ‘BLAZO’ which includes haulage tractor trailer and tipper equipped with FUELSMART technology—CRDe engine with multi-drive mode feature, usually seen in passenger cars.

Promising better fuel efficiency for the prospective customers, the company said the customers can return the vehicles they purchased if the fuel efficiency is not better than that of the trucks they have. It also assured breakdown services within 48 hours. If the company is unable to meet this, the customers will be paid Rs. 1,000 per day.

Nalin Mehta, the Chief Executive Officer, Mahindra Truck and Bus Division, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. said the company has roped in Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn as the face of their new campaign.

The company has engineered its HCV products to suit the Indian terrain and has already more than 17,000 trucks on the road.

The new HCV trucks are being manufactured at its new green field plant at Chakan near Pune.
