Bending of the spinal column nourishes it and enhances its flexibility. The chakras located along the length of the spine are also stimulated, leading to a healthy endocrine system. The abdominal and chest organs are also invigorated. Here is a simple technique of bending back using ropes.
Note: Ropes should be of mountaineering quality.
METHOD:
* Tie a rope at a height of one metre above the floor.
* Stand upright in front of the rope.
* Put the rope around the waist and position the knot at the sacrum (triangular bone in the lower back).
* Hold the rope with both hands and lean against it.
* Slowly move the feet towards the wall and rest feet inclined against the wall.
* Gently bend the back.
* Slide the palms down the rope and bend as much as possible.
* Keep legs straight.
* Stay with slow breathing for about 20-30 seconds.
* Hold the rope and slowly come up.
* Relax and repeat.
