The calf muscle helps the heart in the circulation of blood. The muscle plays an important role in activities like walking, running and jumping. It is subjected to quite a good load during most activities and is also prone to cramps. Here is a simple posture to keep the calf muscle healthy.
Method
* Stand straight, facing the wall, at a distance of about two feet.
* Flexing the knees, place the right foot inclined against the wall,
with the heel pressed to the floor and the toes against the wall.
* Straighten the leg.
* Lift the left heel up and straighten the left leg.
* Move as close to the wall as possible, pressing the hands against it.
* Feel the stretch in the calf muscle.
* The more the inclination of the foot, the better the stretch.
* Stay for 30-60 seconds.
* Bring the right leg back to start and repeat with the left leg.
