  • Zebronics upgrades its fitness wearable range with the Zeb-Fit 500

It's 2017 and wearables are going mainstream! ust like a smart-phone, fitness trackers too are being looked ujon as a necessity. Computer accessories and peripherals brand Zebronics entered the wearable market last year with the Zeb-Fit 100. This year the company has come up with an upgraded variant, the Zeb-Fit 500. We got our hands on this device and here’s our take:

The first thing that caught our attention with this fitness tracker is the slim and sleek design. There are many of us who hate to carry a heavy device around our wrist all day long. The Zeb-Fit 500 weighs 25 grams with 10.9 mm and feels quite light and comfortable.

Another interesting feature is the option of an automatic and manual mode for the heart-rate sensor. You can track your heart rate every five minutes in the automatic mode and get a heart rate graph on the mobile app. We feel that this feature is helpful for those with certain health conditions and need to keep a continuous track of their heart-rate. The other features include the usual, a pedometer, distance tracker, calorie counter, sleep monitor, etc. The tracker also has a sedentary reminder, which alerts you if you are being less active.

The metrics can be accessed by on tap on the 0.49-inch, removable OLED screen, which also display time, phone and SMS notification, and alarm. Although the Zeb-Fit 500 doesn’t have an always on display, a small button on the right side of this device starts the display and also lets you access the metrics. The 70mAh Li-polymer battery needs to be charged once in 15 days.

Apart from fitness, the Zeb-Fit 500 comes with two more interesting features that include a camera remote option, which clicks pictures from your smart-phone with a single touch on this fitness tracker. It also has an anti-lost alert feature that helps one locate his/her phone.

The fitness tracker works on both, Android (4.1 and above) and iOS (7.1 and above). It can be connected to your smart-phone via Bluetooth 4.0.

Priced at Rs3,999, the Zeb-Fit 500 falls under the budget category of wearables. Even though there are many devices available currently with competitive pricing, we feel that the Zeb-Fit 500 stands out with some unique features to offer.
