IS lists reasons for hating west, says war may never end

Islamic State has vowed to continue its mission to make the entire world a Muslim state whether or not the west stops attacks in Syria.

In the recent issue of the militant group's mouthpiece Dabiq, the IS said the west should remember that Jesus is a prophet of Islam, before attacking the Muslims in Syria and Iraq.

The militant group gave a series of reasons why they hate the west and Christianity.

“We hate you for your crimes against Islam and wage war against you to punish you for your transgressions against our religion. As long as your subjects continue to mock our faith, insult the prophets of Allah—including Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Mohammed—burn the Quran and openly vilify the laws of Sharia, we will continue to retaliate, not with slogans and placards, but with bullets and knives,” the bulletin said.

The IS clarified that contrary to the belief that foreign policies of the US and other western nations are the reasons for the war the IS has been waging against them, the militant group's aim is to ensure that the entire western world embraces Islam.

“Some might argue that the foreign policies are the extent of what drives our hatred, this particular reason of hating you is secondary. The fact is, even if you were to stop bombing us, imprisoning us, vilifying us, and usurping our lands, we would continue to hate you because our primary reason of hating you will not cease to exist unless you embrace Islam,” said the mouthpiece.

The bulletin also lists other reasons why the terrorist group hates the west. Noting that atheism is a crime that is engulfing Christianity, the militant group said it is opposed to gay rights, alcohol, drugs and gambling that the west propagates. It also questioned if the communists and socialists around the world support NATO air strikes in Syria, Lebanon and Iraq.

The group, however, suggested that there is a remote possibility of a truce which would come only if the west ended its air strikes and pay jizyah (tax levied by Islamic states on non-Muslim subjects).

“We have been commanded to fight the disbelievers until they submit to the authority of Islam, either by becoming Muslims, or by paying jizyah...and living in humiliation under the rule of Muslims.”
