All-rounder Yuvraj Singh, who had sustained an ankle injury during the match against Australia in Mohali on Sunday, has been ruled out of the ICC World Twenty20.
He will be replaced by Manish Pandey, team director Ravi Shastri told the media on Wednesday.
Pandey, who holds the record of being the first Indian batsman to score a century during the IPL, had impressed all by his smashing a century against Australia when team India visited the country earlier this year.
Yuvraj Singh had twisted his ankle while trying to fend off a delivery and was having trouble while batting before he was out for 21.
Commending the performance of team India against Australia, Shastri said the upcoming game against West Indies on Thursday will be a tough one.
