Dhawan, Kohli lead India to Asia Cup victory

Riding on the brilliant batting display of Virat Kohli (41) and Shikhar Dhawan (60), India beat Bangladesh by eight wickets in the 15-over Asia Cup final at the Sher-E-Bangla stadium in Dhaka on Sunday.

After winning the toss in the rain-delayed match, India asked the hosts to bat first. Bangladesh lost wickets at regular intervals, but managed to put together 120 runs for the loss of five wickets, thanks to the lower order fireworks from Mahmudullah who scored an unbeaten 33 from 13 balls.

India lost the wicket of Rohit Sharma early in the innings, but the talented batting duo of Kohli and Dhawan steadied the innings.

Dhawan-Kohli partnership produced 99 runs as they thrashed the hapless Bangladeshi bowling side before Taskin Ahmed managed to remove Dhawan.

M.S. Dhoni (20) finished in style with a six to wrap up the match in 13.5 overs.
