Technology giants Apple was forced to tender an apology after a video of one of the Apple store staff in Australia asking six black schoolboys to vacate the shop as they were 'worried that the youngsters would steal something from the shop' surfaced.

The video of the incident, which took place in Melbourne's Highpoint shopping centre in Australia, went viral on Tuesday, sparking much outcry on the social media and were claimed to be racist.

The video, which was posted on Facebook, was viewed more than 62,000 times. Although the boys protested when they were told about the staff members' concern about the possible theft, they were asked to leave. The students claimed that they were shocked by the treatment meted out to them.

The students said although this is not the first time they faced racism, this has been the most blatant.

In the wake of the outcry on social media, a senior manager from the shop met with the boys and aplologised to them. She told the boys that they are welcome at the shop anytime.
