Call it an austerity drive or leveraging the digital India potential, Karnataka BJP on Wednesday simultaneously tuned into its 26 organisational districts in virtual space, to deliberate on important issues—from Tiranga Yatra, formation of taluk and district committees and morchas to future activities.

BJP state president B.S. Yeddyurappa chaired the first video conference of district presidents at Jagannatha Bhavan – the BJP state headquarters in Bengaluru.

“We have a taken a step towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream of a digital India. The video conference technology should be extended to district, taluk and hobli level meetings,” said Yeddyurappa, who lauded the efforts of party's IT cell for their support.

Yeddyurappa urged the district presidents to launch massive protests against Amnesty International for its alleged involvement in seditious activity. He also reminded the district units to set up BJP office in district centres.

The meeting that lasted 75-minutes was attended by senior leaders and office-bearers of the state unit Shobha Karandlaje, C.T. Ravi and N. Ravi Kumar, Arun Kumar and Bharati Magdum.
