Jet Airways has grounded his staff for allowing singer Sonu Nigam to perform impromptu mid-air concert using flight's address system.
According to reports, five flight attendants have been taken off duty and they will now be put through corrective training for them to strictly follow the airline's standard operating procedure.
“All cabin crew on the flight have been taken off from flight duty for enquiry and corrective training to reinforce strict adherence to operating procedures,” said Jet Airways in a statement according to reports.
Sonu entertained the passengers of a chartered flight during their journey from Jodhpur to Mumbai on January 4. Since all passengers were known to each other, they persuaded the popular singer to croon couple of songs from his films.
The singer obliged and sang Do pal ruka from Veer Zaara and Panchhi nadiya from Abhishek Bachchan's debut movie, Refugee. The passengers were enthralled and they also joined him in singing.
The video of the in-flight concert was uploaded on the internet, which subsequent went viral on social media.
However, the event clearly did not go down well with the Jet Airways authorities.
Many on social media have approved of Jet Airway's action against the flight crew.
