Even as Kerala is yet to recover from the shock caused by the brutal rape and murder of a 29-year-old law student, Jisha, another alleged incident of gangrape has been reported from state capital Thiruvananthapuram.
According to media reports, a 19-year-old nursing student from Varkala in Thiruvananthapuram was raped by her boyfriend, who is an autodriver, and his friend.
The accused autodriver, along with his friend, had taken the girl to the nearby Kollam district in the auto on Tuesday. When the girl had an epileptic fit, they tried to assault her. They threw her out of the auto when she began to cry for help.
The accused, identified as Sujith (25) and Shyju (24), fled the spot after leaving the auto near Ayanthi railway station in Thiruvananthapuram. The duo are on the run.
The girl was admitted to the hospital.
