Popular music composer Ilayaraja got into a scuffle with a security officer at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on Sunday.
According to media reports, Ilayaraja and his family reached the airport after visiting a few temples in Mangaluru and they had 'prasad' with them. The scanner picked up pieces of broken coconut in their bag and the security officer, without realising who Ilayaraja was, stopped them for further checking.
A journalist, who was present at the spot, said the security officer got upset when Karthik Raja, son of Ilayaraja, took pictures of the incident. He began arguing with the musician and his family and ensured that the pictures were deleted from the phone. The argument went on for quite some time before the journalist intervened and told the officer that the person who he was arguing with is a renowned musician with several national awards.
The flight of Ilayaraja had a 15 minutes delay because of the incident. The music composer and his family was allowed to board the flight after the superior officers intervened.
