Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has topped the latest 2015 Forbes India Celebrity 100 list by unseating his compatriot Salman Khan.
Last year, Shah Rukh was pushed down from the No 1 position to No 3 by Salman. However, this year he wrested the top rank from the latter by becoming the highest earning Indian movie star.
The Dilwale star has earned a whopping Rs 257.5 crore as of September 30 this year, according to the magazine. Salman holds the second position with 202.75 core, followed by Amitabh Bachchan with earnings valued at Rs 112 core. However, Shah Rukh is at 3rd position in terms of fame.
In terms of fame, Amitabh continues to command the No 1 rank, followed by Salman at No 2 and cricket great Sachin Tendulkar at No 3. While cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni is at No 4, actor Aamir Khan has also made a cut in the list this year. The actor's last super hit film, PK and other endorsements have contributed to his fortunes. He has earned Rs 104.25 crore.
Actors Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan and Indian cricket team, skipper Virat Kohli are among the top 10 celebrities in the list.
The annual Celebrity 100 list is complied based on earnings and fame of movie actors, sportsperson, television actors, stand-up comedians, directors, music composers, singers and authors. Their gross pre-tax earnings, Google search, press clippings, magazine covers, followers on social media are all taken into account while preparing the list.
